What does Tinnitus do to me?

Absolutely nothing anymore doesn't bother me anymore, but I have other health concerns, has tinnitus ever been linked to other serious conditions or diseases?

I was told that tinnitus could be a symptom of acoustic neuroma which is a tumor. MRI can detect this. I had an MRI done and I do not have any tumors. Of course this is a very serious condition and I would guess it is a rare cause of tinnitus.
