Alice Guinane

I became deaf at the age of 4 1/2 from infections over and over again and have been completely and profoundly deaf. When I was around 40 years old I thought I was hearing engines running below me or nearby. When I asked my non-deaf father if there are motors running someplace and he said no. But I felt a booming vibrations that sound like a running engine, a train go by or an Indian pounding on drums. It is happening right now. I discussed it with my doctor and he sent me to a cardiologist but my heart was fine. Now I am into my 80's I try to ignore it. I think the reason for my tinnitus is that because the world is quiet to me so therefore I can sort of hear my blood running thru my body like an engine. The sound is around my body not in my ears. :D
