I have had MEM for the past 5 months. it came out of nowhere. Mine is strictly a clicking sound. It's random as hell, totally irratic, and the worst when I lie down to sleep, which drives me nuts and totally messes up my sleep. ENT has been very unhelpful. I've tried acupuncture, lots of medicines to knock me out, but that's a crappy way to go. I found a good crainiosacral practitioner who may be helping me, but not covered by insurance and kind of expensive... I'm pretty desperate at this point with my sleep being so screwed up... anyone else having sleep issues...? I'm starting to think surgery is my only option, but being a musician I'm scared of losing some hearing.
