Hearing with other brain circuits : good or bad for tinnitus?

Hi, Here's some kind of longshot idea how to activate auditory neurons which are possibly dormant due to disabled hair-cells. If you stretch out the cochlea into a straight line, you see something like this : <-- high freqs --> <-- middle freqs --> <--- low freqs --->...

Dr. Robert Aaron Levine's Tinnitus Tutorial

Unfortunely, I do not know of ANY existing method to reverse hearing loss after noise exposure. The only thing that comes to mind is hyperbaric chamber, but that is used for sudden deafness and in low agreement between experimental results too. I do not know of any hyperbaric chamber that was...

Hearing with other brain circuits : good or bad for tinnitus?

Not at all. They say it's using the principle of bone conduction. I don't know a lot about how their instrument works, but from my understanding - they put faith that there are still hair cells left in the ear and that the bone conduction will nudge them better than the eardrum.

Dr. Robert Aaron Levine's Tinnitus Tutorial

Hi, Is that the theory that ear imbalance (left ear hears 50%, right ear 100%) causes the tinnitus? If so, then this doesn't explain why when the auditory nerve is cut then for some patients the tinnitus disappears. You would expect for ear imbalance that when the nerve is cut, then the tinnitus...

Hearing with other brain circuits : good or bad for tinnitus?

Hello You may heard that various implants that activate neurons are running on the research and development the recent years. For blind people, A small electrical stimulator placed on the tongue can transmit low resolution image from a wireless camera. This was developed recently. I don't know...

Dr. Robert Aaron Levine's Tinnitus Tutorial

I think that the key question here is whether you prefer tinnitus or prefer other side effects. Many people would prefer the other side-effects rather than to be left with tinnitus. It also says something interesting at the end of the video : If you try several GABA enhancing drugs, then some...

Beware of Things You Read Over the Internet

Over the last months I've read a lot of stuff over the internet. Things that may all be true. Things that may be true and may not be true. and things that may be false. For an example, the amount of clinical trials that support the laser therapy for the treatment of tinnitus, is staggering. This...

    Hypothesizing a Theory Regarding Tinnitus

I think I'm feeling better.. I think that the tinnitus had decreased in it's volume and became from "mild" tinnitus to "very mild".. I don't know if I just became used to it, or that the volume really had decreased. What I did is ultrasound to the jaw and I also ran. When I run I don't hear my...

    Hypothesizing a Theory Regarding Tinnitus

Hi, I just found a site which re-assures my previous theory in the topic : "people who worry about their tinnitus when it starts make it last into chronic tinnitus" http://www.kevinhogan.com/FAQ.htm - basically, all the things he says is to do everything to not focus on the tinnitus sound in...

    Hypothesizing a Theory Regarding Tinnitus

Hi, I do want this thread to continue and to inject fuel into it. I have consulted two doctors who claim to have treated thousands of tinnitus patients. One doctor knew of AM-101, and he said that he's not impressed with it. The other doctor said that inner ear injections have proven to cause...

Very good. When this clinical trial will be finished we would know how much time it takes for the window to be closed.

    Hypothesizing a Theory Regarding Tinnitus

Very interesting. This could rule out my theory completely. But when you consider that chronic pains are real diseases, combined with the claim that the vagus nerve therapy can reduce "phantom sound" as the MicroTransponder company itself describes it - I wonder though if it just reduces the...

    Hypothesizing a Theory Regarding Tinnitus

Hi guys and I really have had an insight breakthrough today. This insight is fully compatible with modern neurology theory and common logic. no Chinese magic and abstract stuff here!!! This insight also makes the theory complete and explains a possible way to recover from acute tinnitus. If...
