@Nesty, Ciprofloxacin? That caused your hearing loss? I had a spinal fusion from L3 to S1 and they gave me Vancomycin powder, even though they knew I already had tinnitus. They did not seem to care. I now have hearing loss and I am adjusting to hearing aids and a new level of tinnitus. 😘

I heard there are many complaints about Lenire device to the FDA. You think Dr. Shore's device will be better?

Completely agree. But the more the merrier? Maybe research will move faster?

Read the abstract. It is vague and uses the word “may.” Nothing sounds promising.

When you say “age-related,” how old are you? I am 76 and have had tinnitus for 35 years. I had spinal surgery on January 20, 2025. Two weeks after the surgery, my tinnitus spiked. It has been almost five months, and I am trying to habituate. Does anyone think my age might be a factor?

If I had known about tinnitus and how unreliable the NRR of earplugs is, the answer would have been no! Now that I have tinnitus, the answer is still no!

It amazes me that they manufacture headphones that allow the volume to go beyond the safety limit. It seems we are our own worst enemy.

@Ben Winders, although your post is lengthy, I saw myself in every word. You are lucky to have a good partner, as I am. I’ve lived with tinnitus for 35 years. Your words felt as if they were describing my own life. God bless, and I still pray for better treatments or a cure. Hugs to all!
