Why isn´t there more awareness about tinnitus, if there are so many who have it ?

I really want to be hopeful about research into regenerating hair cells being effective in eliminating tinnitus and hyperacusis. I really, really hope for everyone on here and elsewhere that something will come up soon. There are so many people around me who have problems with their hearing...

Ok, I meant like obvious hearing loss which they can tell themselves. I get the hidden hearing loss part. So one can have hyperacusis with hidden hearing loss, and no tinnitus?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone experiences pain from loudness but has no tinnitus or hearing loss. For example getting ear pain from the sound of dishes. Is this hyperacusis or just being sensitive to sound?

How bad is your tinnitus ? Did it get better ?

Not always.

It would not surprise me if there were a lot of people who are unaware of their tinnitus because it is rather mild.

I really hope so. I could not have imagined how bad this condition is until I got it. I also had and still have depersonalization/derealization, so this only adds to my problems.

I´m new here, so do you guys really think either fx or decibeltx, regain is going to help with tinnitus ? I hate tinnitus. So much.

I think showering makes my tinnitus better. But just right after and it does not last very long.

I am not sure about that. The sound gets worse when I put puressure on my jaw, but otherwise it is constant.
