- Tinnitus Since:
- 04/1996
- Cause of Tinnitus:
- meningococcal meningitis
My name is Michael. I'm generally a relaxed easy going man. I traveled a lot when I was younger but now live in my home country New Zealand.
I have been HIV+ since 1988 but it was meningococcal meningitis that I nearly died of in 1996. The t started after recovering from this but I considered myself lucky this was really the only physical fallout from this health crisis. Now twenty years on and with HIV now a managable condition, the tinnitus has become something that can only decrease my quality of life in the future. I've joined this community in the hope that the strategies I have used so far to cope can help others - and of course to find a solution if there is - or possibly are any.Interact
