Hi Vin, Depakote in small dosages i.e 750mg to 1000mg should be fine but if the dosage is 3500mg then that is high and needs to be monitored regularly for side effects. It’s a horrible drug to be on long term. The only other drug which is effective for Bipolar is Carbamazepine.
