I'm happy to join this forum. It's good to read about people, studies & Dr's who are involved. Hopefully it will help me cope better now.

    Tinnitus Since:
    May 2008
    Cause of Tinnitus:
    I really don't know.
In 2008, I was in an water-aerobics class when the T just suddenly started. I went to many Dr's & had numerous tests, and all I was told is that I have T and I "have to live with it". About 1 year ago, I lost the hearing in my left ear and now wear dual hearing aids. I have tried chiropractors, acupuncturists, go to a massage therapist, etc., but although I feel somewhat better after for awhile, nothing really works and the T comes "roaring" back! I have given up alcohol, salt & sugar in my diet. I take several supplements as well. NOTHING works! I work full-time and "hide" my suffering as best as I can at work. After work, I come come and basically collapse. My fiance is the most understanding man in the world, I am blessed for that. Lately I have been seeing a cranial therapist, who says I have a compressed cranial nerve. I do get relief short term, but it always comes back. I'm very grateful for the 1 or 2 days it subsides, but it costs a fortune and I can afford only one treatment a week. The issue is when it comes back, its 2x louder than usual and takes a couple of days to calm down to its normal 5-6 range.
