Signs of eardrum perforation:
Sudden ear pain that quickly subsides
Feeling of liquid in ear
Though sometimes asymptomatic.
You could go to the doctor for an actual answer and in the meanwhile use cotton balls in your ear while you shower.
I can agree that anxiety and spinal problems contribute but I think most people's tinnitus is from noise. Most people have a clear link to a sound event that caused their tinnitus.

This thread provided me with a lot of relief when I posted it.
But remembering the words here is also what lead me to worsened hyperacusis. (4 months in, no improvement) Maybe it's not harmful if you just have tinnitus. But if you have hyperacusis certain sounds are capable of triggering damage...
For tinnitus. Not for hyperacusis. If your hyperacusis is worse than your tinnitus then quality of life is still awful following a tinnitus cure. Most of you probably have some measure of amplification hyperacusis or so many here wouldn't spike so much.
