Thumpngroove

I've been a rock musician since the 1970's, and have attended many loud concerts. I attended a Ted Nugent concert the night before my first day of high school, and my ears rang for 2 days after. I was more mindful after that, but still exposed myself to loud music while rehearsing and performing and attending concerts.
I find it difficult to wear earplugs while I perform because I also sing and it affects how I hear myself blending into the sound mix. I refuse to rehearse when players are too loud, I just leave the room. During a performance it sometimes becomes a problem, but people are mostly helpful in trying to keep the volume acceptable. The only issue I really have is with drums, specifically the snare drum and cymbals. I think they are the major source of long-term hearing issues. My tinnitus started many years ago, and I've learned to just accept it. I still enjoy playing and listening to music, and I don't have much permanent hearing loss, just a bit of trouble with conversations in loud environments. Recently my tinnitus seemed to get louder after trying the "Reddit" cure involving myofascial release of the muscles at the back of the head. It helped for a few minutes, then over the next few days it got louder. It is now starting to drive me crazy. I'm hopeful I can find some help here.
