There is no 50/50 balance. Tailor your response to the situation & how your ears feel. Also its near impossible to know exactly when to protect and when not to. Sound is SOO unpredictable. Just keep doing your best.

It's been a long time with T& H. Nearly 3 years. I'm getting better at shifting my focus away for H & T and to solving other problems.

Good luck in your journey. Best I can say is protect your ears in objectively loud places going forwards & focus on your life as a whole. Focus on only problems you can fix if a further ENT appt isn't helpful

On another note. The only earplugs that fit my ear! The Slim Howard Leight ones fit. Do you know where i can buy similar slim earplugs in either black or a darker colour? (other than the orange and yellow colours i know they offer) I would prefer a dark colour as i use them daily when leaving...

Yeah... no... don’t opt to sever the tendons. Big risk and no guarantee it gets better.

To make your voice quiet with earplugs, push them deeper till theres a full seal but that's slightly uncomfortable

Apple AirPod pros have the feature without the band.

I haven’t found any. I know that noise cancelling headphones and earbuds do the job and they make your voice not sound loud in your head but they have a slight’ pressure’ sensation.

Really depends. Did you feel pain when slapped? Did the noise feel loud? For me both was yes and it was permanent
