New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

I forgot to mention this earlier, but the Lenire representative actually told me that the increase in my tinnitus after my acoustic trauma two years ago was psychosomatic, simply because I had very mild tinnitus before it. This, despite the fact that I could barely hear it in a quiet room back...

Lenire — User Experiences and Reviews

I just tried to establish care with a new audiologist. Two audiologists greeted me and then introduced a representative from Lenire. The three of them spent the next hour delivering a highly scripted, high-pressure sales pitch for Lenire. It felt like a timeshare presentation. I have...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

I have a theory on why Auricle is delayed. I recently visited a new audiologist to establish care and discuss hearing aids for masking. Two audiologists greeted me and introduced me to a representative from Lenire. The three of them then spent an hour delivering what felt like a scripted hard...

Custom Earplugs (ACS, Elacin, Etymotic, Westone, etc.)

I use Westone custom earplugs with 9 dB filters, which I wear for extended periods when I am around people who might be speaking loudly — basically any group of more than three people. They are very comfortable in my ears and seem to reduce the incoming volume evenly across all frequencies.

Attending a Noisy Indoor Graduation Ceremony: Tips and Experiences?

Likewise, @Strife_84. I can be working an 80-hour stressful week or meditating for ten days, and neither has any impact on the constant whine in my head. That’s what made me realize this is truly a physical injury in my case, caused by acoustic trauma.

AdventHealth Research Institute Offers Phase II Clinical Trial of Etanercept for Treatment of Blast-Induced Tinnitus

That is exciting. It sounds like there was an anecdotal case of someone whose hearing was improved while on a drug that had a similar mechanism of action.

Attending a Noisy Indoor Graduation Ceremony: Tips and Experiences?

I have been looking into the solid plugs. How much better are they compared to the ER-25s? Solid plugs combined with construction grade earmuffs might be enough. It is going to be around 100 dB, right? That should bring the level down below 80 dB.

Colonoscopy Prep Options for Tinnitus Sufferers

I had no problems with Propofol. The prep was difficult only because it put strain on my body, and I did not get enough sleep. As a result, my tinnitus was worse for a while because of that, but it was no different than what happens when traveling and experiencing jet lag, for example. It was...

Attending a Noisy Indoor Graduation Ceremony: Tips and Experiences?

I have to attend loud events occasionally for work. I have been using Westone custom fitted earplugs with ER-25 Etymotic filters. These reduce the decibel level by 25, not by a factor of 25 like some non-Etymotic earplugs. They also offer solid filters, which I have been considering but have...

Exploring a Possible Tinnitus-Migraine Link: Sardines as a Test Treatment?

It looks like the original post was deleted. The poster said they had chronic migraines and found that eating a tin of sardines soaked in water was the only thing that kept them away. They also mentioned that the sardines had to be canned less than one year earlier, or else they did not work.

Exploring a Possible Tinnitus-Migraine Link: Sardines as a Test Treatment?

I’ve read in a few posts here that some people believe there may be a link between tinnitus and migraines. I’m not particularly interested in trying this treatment myself, but is anyone a fan of sardines and willing to give it a try and report back?

Repeated Bilateral Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation over Auditory Cortex for Tinnitus

Posting an update as I am starting the treatment again after six months without it. I have been tracking my tinnitus distress daily for the past three months and will continue tracking it for another three months while using the device. Here is the graph for the last three months. It is...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

https://github.com/orgs/auricle-inc/repositories No updates in 2025. Where did you see a recently updated repo, @Cyborg? Their only original repo (not a fork) is the TinnTester one. It does not surprise me that it has had no updates, since it is just the software tool they are using to help...

Hough Ear Institute's Hair Cell Regeneration Project

Yeah, this seems like BS. They are just combining two readily available ingredients: NAC and HPN-07, right? Both are antioxidants, so they may have some value in prevention or an acute response. But if this were truly effective, it would already be available—unless I am missing something.

Ultrasound-Guided Stellate Ganglion Block for the Treatment of Tinnitus

I am not entirely sure what it is or what it does, but the study linked above suggests what blocking it might do for tinnitus sufferers. I received a referral from my doctor for the procedure, but I have not gone through with it yet. I am still not entirely sure I will, as there is a chance of...
