@Freerunner I think it would hurt quite a bit if it were to touch the ear drum, it's a very sensitive piece of tissue. I wear my ear plugs deeply inserted for hours on end, and sometimes it makes my ear canals sore and hurt due to the overuse. I don't know about the muffled feeling, make sure that you aren't impacting ear wax, that could cause a muffled feeling.
