Certain frequencies were amplified in my tinnitus maskers because the "earbud part" of the hearing aids blocks sound. I don't have hearing loss. I think amplifying sounds was a bad idea with my hyperacusis.

My tinnitus has spiked a lot and my healthier ear that usually is silent makes really high frequency constant sounds, my hyperacusis spiked and I have burning sensations in my ear. I have made a lot of progress and I regret taking risks like this with my hyperacusis.
