@DeanD i don't think the medication is for the potential pain rather something to settle your nerves so you aren't so uptight about it. Rescue remedy maybe lol

@hopefuldede - Yes exactly, it's why I am hesitant on taking a diazepam. I have had 5 failed nasal endoscopies where they can't fully get through the nasal cavity because they have been too painful. They've even tried double dosing the nasal spray first. I've had loads of tests (e.g. EMG) but I just can't push through this one.
