No, it doesn't really matter. There.is no certain cure either way. But there are great possibilities to move on and get better. Acceptance of whatever the reason is, is step 1.
It's very possible, since it has been reported a lot with SSRI's. I seemed to get an intermittent tone chirp/ring that started on Sertraline (SSRI) in less than a week of using it, but I went off it after 8 days total due to stomach pain. I never had that with Nortriptyline (tricyclic AD) last year or any effect on tinnitus. Doesn't matter if you're going to stay off SSRI's.
