I don't know what E tubes are JurgenG. Don't assume that every loud sound will be harmful. This is negative thinking and you're not really helping yourself. Try not to pay too much attention to sounds. I hope you have stopped using earplugs regularly as they will make your auditory system more sensitive when overused.
I have never experimented opening and closing E tubes and unless you have to, I advise that you don't either. As you know the ear, nose and throat are connected. Unless you know what you're doing you might do more harm than good. Since the pain lasted for a second and you are okay? Leave well alone is my advice and try not to worry.
