Don't miss the opportunity to attend Tinnitus Quest's online Q&A with Dr. Susan Shore and Jon Pearson, CEO of Auricle on October 13. We will hear the latest about the Susan Shore Device.
@IAmCalifornia It would be really nice to make them feel the same pain and then see if they would still treat Tinnitus as a non-issue and basically tell every patient to fuck-off
@Contrast Its definitely closer than a century. I think maybe 10 years given the huge profits involved i hope its sooner but I could be wrong. The ENT's make a lot of money from hearing aids and its obvious they don't want what's best for patients these days so they aren't going to be happy when hair cell regeneration is released since it will hurt there hearing aid market.
We'll I think it varies from ENT to ENT. The second ENT I talked to knew about the work of Charles Liberman and Frequency Therapeutics HC regeneration trials.
It must vary by country, but none of the ENTs that I saw made money from the sale of hearing aids. On the other hand, audiologists at hearing aid centers do.
I suspect ENTs make most of their money from correcting sinus problems and sinus surgeries.
@IAmCalifornia Yes, the are actively lobbying. Last year when Congress passed the Hearing Aid Act 2017 which enables people to get hearing aids for hundreds instead of thousands of dollars and program them on there own the audiologist and ENT association put up big money and tried to convince congress not to pass the law. Luckily for everyone they failed.
