Hey! I wonder how you're doing? I found your message on my profile a bit late, because I did not come back to the forum for a long time. Just let...
Has anyone's 'spike' from covid settled down? Or is this a new baseline I'd just have to get used to.
Hey, unfortunately for me it only got worse. I have my new base level for a year now. I hope yours did get better!
My one year anniversary. I celebrate with covid, which made my T get even worse. I found some short periods of 'habituation' though!
Today, I am officially 2 months into my 'spike/new baseline'. No improvement, just more different sounds. Mentally I'm coping better tho.
Thinking of that one time I went indoor skydiving back when I had my T under control. Zero fear, no effect on it. What a life that was lol!
It's just hard to feel like there is something medically wrong (in the end we know our bodies the best) and not being taken seriously. For me, I'm...
@Matchbox yes thank you! I definitely feel like there's something off there and doctors keep ignoring it. A psychiatrist said it could be...
I'm two months in and it has been very constant/sometimes its worsening. But giving myself a time frame helps to put the suicidal ideation aside...
Migraines, sinistus, visual snow, my jaw hurts. My spike is spiking. I'm giving myself a year, if it does not get better I'm ending it.
Aw I'm glad I've discovered this wonderful thread - look at you guys! Going through pictures is hard, because I miss my life and how it was. It...
Just had 3 episodes in my left ear where I couldn't hear for some time and ear feels full. Can't tell if it's back to normal, is this SSHL?
[ATTACH] About the same audiogram as 5 years ago when I was 20. My ENT said the right eardrum was collapsed inward a bit (decreased pressure)....
Hi Rust, I get that you're worried but I don't think this will cause a permanent spike. May I ask how long your drug induced (cocaine) spike...
So theoretically, if your tinnitus cannot be masked in any way and you're forced to listen to it all day. Will that 'speed up' habituation?
I have this as well, but they say they cannot treat ETD, except for the nasal spray they described. Is there any information I can look up about this?
Went to the beach today, for a nice walk. Even though the sounds are not masked by the waves, it was nice to feel the sun on my face
I'm in a 'spike' that is getting constistanly worse. When I say this it's not about what I experience in a short time such as a day/couple days....
How do you know this?
Why does it become worse? I have no idea. Please stop it, I'm doing my absolute best :(
Oh no! What should I do about my ETD then?
Well said!
Ori and the Blind Forest/Will of the Wisps maybe? It's very relaxing as well :)
Spoke with the audiologist today. She told me my ENT referred to them before, in 2017, bc of a long spike. I personally forgot about that?
Thank you @Steph1710 for your support (also on my statuses). I'm not exaggerating when I say it is life-saving. I read about spikes taking a long...
Update So I went to see the ENT in Antwerp, Belgium. Nothing came out of that, he said I have ETD and that my right eardrum was retracted and...
Hey there, My main T tone is the same as yours! How's it going so far? Would love to hear an update!
Yes, it changes pitch and times with my heartbeat. I can feel it as well. Gets worse when I exercise, which is the worst because that's one of...
I was wrong, my appointment is the day after tomorrow lol (ADD brain). I will call and see if they can first examine if it is truly necessary....
Pulsatile T on top of everything. Whooshing heartbeat in my right ear. Can hear it 'thump' with every step I take. Just keeping track here.
Hey I know this is a really old thread. Mine was gone for almost 10 blissful years. It is back now, I don't know why. BUT it is definitely possible.
Having my bottom left wisdom tooth removed in 2 days, it's impacted. Read contradictory stories: go or cancel?
This new year's eve I had to run outside for a bit and really loud fireworks went off near me. I just read damage is cumulative. :/
Today, I declined this test. Thanks to the forum/thread. I'm glad I did, because it wouldn't have made a difference for what my ENT eventually...

@Joe C, how are things going for you?
Sent you a message if you still want to talk!
Intense ear pain. Gut feeling T is gonna be permanent, but I am not losing hope. Had a good night's sleep and started taking magnesium.
Hello @Steph1710! Thank you so much but no need to apologize :)
Hey ajc! It was just me typing out my thoughts. No need to get upset. I am using this to cope.
I don't feel like I get any response here. Reading other posts is helpful, though.
I am currently roughly one month into what I hope is a spike. It's never been this bad. New sounds, no sleep, trying to manage my anxiety and not...
Alright, I hope this goes for me! We will just have to wait and see and in the meantime I will protect my hearing like @Michael Leigh says. Is...
Hi there, I'm so glad I found this forum. The community seems very supportive. I've had tinnitus since I can remember - ever since I was 4 I told...
