I do not disagree with you that dead neurons do not come back to life. What I don't understand is why you are saying dead neurons are the cause of tinnitus and related conditions. Explain to me how a phantom percept of sound is supposed to processed by any neuron in the brain if they're dead...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

I don't remember Dr. Shore mentioning anywhere that it won't work for hyperacusis. Just like with the other questions (reactive tinnitus, etc.), she said something along the lines of "we haven't researched this," etc. The patent also mentions that it could work for other conditions.

So this means that the device's official name is not going to be "Auricle," lol. It could also mean the manufacturer is different. Auricle is not a device manufacturing company. For more accurate information, we should search for common medical device manufacturers in the Bay Area.

There's not really any way to know. I went through loads of cycles of worsening and improving before I found my comfort zones.
  45. AnthonyMcDonald

    Can You Habituate to Hyperacusis?

Being able to handle more sound when you have loudness hyperacusis must be done very carefully. It's a much simpler process when it's mild. Silence is what helps your ears/brain rest, and is the key to improvement in the beginning.
