Neurosoft Bioelectronics: Implantable Electrodes to Treat Tinnitus

I just read the Tinnitus Hackathon report and thought it was great. When I read the names of attendees at the bottom, I saw Nicolas Gninenko's name, who is the CEO of Neurosoft. Was there any update regarding their clinical trial? Have they hit any roadblocks, or are they still on schedule to...

    Transcranial Ultrasound Stimulation (TUS)

@Nick47, I believe this has one of the best chances of helping us find relief. Tinnitus is heavily influenced by plasticity, so I think repeated treatments might lead to permanent improvement. In this paper, 40 seconds gave them up to 2 hours of change, so why wouldn’t 30 minutes to 1 hour...

    Sound Pharmaceuticals (SPI-5557 & SPI-1005)

@Alberte, some people feel like this can help tinnitus or, at the very least, keep it from getting worse. The company's CEO also believes it can help with tinnitus. The FDA hasn't approved it, but they gave it the fastest track, so hopefully it will be on the market sooner rather than later.

    Introducing Tinnitus Quest

I saw the video with Jeff Teräväinen. I thought it was amazing, and it's great to see Tinnitus Quest growing. We as a community have always had a hard time getting celebs to talk about tinnitus, but that seems to be changing. I'm sure Tinnitus Quest will only get bigger and bigger with time.

Like the title says, Germany is planning to invest 500 million euros over the next 10 years for CFS. The first thing I want to say is that I am extremely happy for these people. CFS is a terrible condition, and I am glad they are getting the help they need. The second thing I want to say is that...

Prof. Thanos Tzounopoulos Receives $2 Million Grant

I just finished watching the whole video, and it was insightful. Dr. Tzounopoulos said that RL81 not only worked, but it seemed to have a lasting effect for weeks and months, which showed that tinnitus and hyperacusis can be corrected. This was in mice, unfortunately, but it was still great to...

Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) for Tinnitus

I just saw an article saying they’re currently looking for funding to run a trial with 16 patients this time. I think that’s great news and a step in the right direction. @delta784, what would you like to know exactly? I feel like @lusiol summed it up pretty well.

Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) for Tinnitus

Thank you @lusiol. I posted in another thread about an ultrasound helmet that can have the same effect as DBS. I think using something like that to pinpoint where to permanently stimulate in the future will make a big difference. At the moment, it feels like guessing, but at the same time, it...

Ultrasound 'Helmet' Could Treat Many Neurological Conditions

@Nick47, that’s what’s great about this technology—there are so many different possible outcomes. If we were able to safely identify where to stimulate for each person, it would make actual DBS surgery much more effective. We could know exactly where to place the stimulation because we’d already...

I’m sorry for what you’re going through. I wish I had some clear advice to give you, but I don’t. The main thing I can suggest is to limit the sounds you hear as much as possible. It seems like you’re already doing that, so the rest might just take time to see if you improve. It can take a...
