Hi, I ended up having one done as part of screening me for a University trial. I cant now remember what it said. I guess the only comment I have...
Totally right Bill! It was Dr. Patel. He's excellent.
Hi John Paul, yes UK. Progressive Dentistry in Fulham.
I'm writing an update on this as I had the root canal treatment yesterday using LASER. It was very hard to find anyone in the UK willing to...
Hi Lane, I'm very interested in this as I always go for natural, holistic resolutions first. I will definitely be looking into this. My problem...
Hi everyone - thanks for contributing.
I'm really sorry to hear that. If I find anything that helps me you'll be the first to know. So far Pregabalin for anxiety and last summer...
Its a good idea to have a stock of Prednisolone. What dose do you take if you think you may be exposed and after you know you have?
No, it's gotten worse :( Just is the way with it - multiple worsenings over time :(
Hi, earplugs were discussed above.
Another good idea. Though if it can be done 100% with laser dentistry there may be no need as no noise?
Hi @DebInAustralia, thanks for the lovely post. Did you manage to check my post prior to yours where I've found laser dentistry? I actually know...
I've googled the laser dentistry. It appears there are a fair number of practices that use it in the UK. Here's a quote from one of them; "Lasers...
Ah. Thats bad news then. But still quieter than a drill.
That's a great thread actually. Consensus seems to be no plugs but do use headphones.
Thanks :)
Ah ok. It SHOULD work then. I'll look at those as well tomorrow.
Thanks Greg. Even if the drill time is reduced it's better than nothing. Last time I went I got them not to use the suction thing only quickly...
Do you think though that would result in double the sound?!! Not that you'd hear it double due to the netting off effect but youve actually had 2...
How do those things work?
Thanks @Ed209 yeah I imagine that will be the case. I'll still do some digging.
Thanks Greg. Is there anything special about the headphones you use? So you have laser drills too? We must have them in the UK.....
Can you PM her then and leave my thread to replies that are on topic? I don't have Hyperacusis. I've never had an issue with that barring for a...
Ha ha! Sorry! Something bad is happening with my eyes now and I can no longer read properly with my specs! That's ears and eyes gone now, I...
I have 32NRR earplugs. But do you think your headphones better due to equalising more?
Thanks Robo. This is great. I'll certainly be researching this one tomorrow.
Of course Tinnitus responds to noise Michael. Please just stop saying things like that. In the same post you've said Tinnitus doesn't respond to...
I should have known better than to come on here. You are clearly saying that people think their way into Tinnitus worsening. Even after reading...
So you're saying it's all in the mind then Michael? Nothing to do with the decibels of the drill? That really is BS. If anyone else has...
He already knows Michael because 2 years ago when he did the small filling it worsened the Tinnitus so the last time I went I told him. He did the...
Hi, Just wanting to know if anyone has any advice for me in how to reduce the noise of having a root canal done? I had a small filling 2 years...
Well my neurons are just fine and I've taken it for some months. HBO - you have to do minimum 20 consecutive sessions at full depth for at least...
I think a tot of Brandy is way healthier than Sertraline :)
Hi Sandra, I need to add my thoughts here. I am just like you with Tinnitus - I could not live with the anxiety, it was debilitating. For me...
It's a perfectly valid question. It's not natural to have that vibration going through your head. You don't find that in nature. I had the...
Thanks. I might try it one day. On advice from a private doctor I consulted with yesterday I've increased the Pregabalin by 50mg and the...
Ive found someone who may prescribe Lamotrigine. How do you rate it for noise reduction?
Why do you prefer Gabapentin? And doesn't it build tolerance whereas Pregabalin doesn't really or at least not quickly.
How odd, don't know what I meant by that post. Just in a state.
What does is best?
So if Pregabalin doesn't reduce the noise then Gabapentin is unlikely to do you think? Or do they both work a lot differently?
How does it differ in effects from Pregabalin? I'd have to show studies on its usefulness for anxiety before they'd consider it I think.
Wonder if I should try Gabapentin if I can persuade my doctor? They are never willing to prescribe off-label though. The withdrawl of Trobalt...
I looked at so many drugs years ago when I first got it. I'd never get a doctor to prescribe it anyway. Do you have a substitute for it?
Did you get Trobalt prescribed for Tinnitus? I just looked it up as I'd forgotten what it is - says GSK are withdrawing it in 2017.
Ok, thanks.
Thanks. I haven't heard of this but will research it.
Gabapentin the best for the noise or the anxiety?
Thanks @brummygirl I appreciate that. How did your son's injury cause Tinnitus? Up until recently I was working in Brum, though I live in...
I've got high BP too but I do think I have had before.
I forgot something..... fir about a week I'd been taking 3mg Melatonin at night.
