    hello everyone

I have had tinnitus for 12 years now, and it has become harder to handle the last two years. I get by with music, hiking and trying to stay "non-stress"-busy with positive things. The best for me is staying outdoors, preferably by a lake or a river, or in positive interaction with other people...

First Summer with Chronic Tinnitus Coming Up

I can't remember my first summer with chronic tinnitus, it's many years ago. But last summer was the first summer I had thoughts about not being able to handle it any more. Or rather: Handle it and full time job any more. And in October last year I threw in the towel and asked for 50% off work...

    Tinnitus Masking: In-Ear Maskers

I would try some cheap bluetooth headphones first, and play white noise on my phone or iPod. I also like nature sounds better than white or pink sound.

    Sound Generators/Pillows, Do You Use?

Lots of android apps too with masking sounds. I use one called Soundsleep. Just place the phone under my pillow or on the table beside my bed. I mostly am able to fall asleep without any sound, luckily, but when I wake up during the night to go to the toilet, I need sounds outside my t to fall...

Hi everyone, I also live with tinnitus. Read my post.

Hi folks ! I use to say that without music, I would sit heavily sedated in a place with white walls.:coffee: Classical music has been one of my greatest joys after I got t. I've always liked it, but now I need it. Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Schubert, Bach, Bruck, Albinoni, all the great ones. And...

About to "Celebrate" My Tenth Tinnitus Anniversary

Hi Peter! 12 and a half years now. It was not a big thing at first, but after struggling for some years with re-education and getting a steady job in my new profession, plus cancer in 2002 and a heart attack in 2009 (and bills always coming in faster than money, and our son in Afghanistan...

Here's a List of Current Clinical Trials! (US/International)

Hard to find something very explanatory, but I found this: http://www.wikinvest.com/stock/Novartis_AG_(NVS)/Neuroscience It's an AMPA antagonist, which I also don't find very well defined after quick googling. It's used to treat migraine and epilepsy.

Thanks for editing. I am a language teacher, so mistakes make me nervous. ;/) I agree with every comment: I just use hearing protection at concerts, and during loud cinema commercials. And no 16 is hereby added Jim. :D

Hello, I'm Svein. I have tinnitus

Thanks, Warren and Markku. :) I got tinnitus in 1999, after a period of stress due to computer strain in arm and shoulders, losing my job, and training for a new profession as a teacher. I also had cancer in 2002 and a heart attack in 2009. I think the mental strain after the heart attack is...

    Tip #1: Find a Partner...

I'm a heavy snorer, but my wife says she's used to it, bless her. She's snores a bit herself, and when I wake up in the night with t screaming, it's a blessing to listen to her puffing till I feel asleep again.
