    I get the impression people who constantly rag on TRT have never actually tried it. Don’t knock it before you try it I always say. That said, I can’t even afford TRT, so it’s a pass on me. Regular do-it-yourself sound therapy should suffice I suppose.

    I agree with @Wrfortiscue’s assessment then, that it’s likely distortions. Distortions alter the way external sounds are supposed to be perceived.     I consider it distortions if you can’t hear it in silence. If you still hear this chain sound while in silence but at a much lower volume, then I consider it to be reactive tinnitus.

    Good to hear that you’ve had some good days lately (@David S too). Hope your sound therapy journeys pay off in the end. Still dealing with reactivity myself, some days very reactive, while other days not so much. But I think it might be in a better state than a couple months ago.
