Age-Related Hearing Loss

They say that from your 30th your hearing deteriorates. But then I actually wonder how high can hear a person aged 40 years and older. I can hear to 13500hz . I 'm almost 43 years old. I do not know if this is normal ?

 

I can hear still up 2 around 18000hz. Turning 40 soon.
My left ear is worse but still can here high but with higher volumes.

 

Good question. I only know that my T developed with high frequency hearing loss in my 40s which I assumed was from loud concerts and headphones, but maybe not. Looking back, I wish I was more protective of my hearing but I am more cautious now and use earplugs at loud concerts and reduced volume headphones.

 

Yeah, there's really no warnings about tinnitus, you only know about it when you get it...My doctor never said once you could get tinnitus from ear-infections, otherwise I could've prevented it..Thank you lack of awareness.

 

That's crazily good hearing!!! How do you have tinnitus!?
