Ive been doing pink noise therapy from the hyperacusis network for my T and H for almost 2 months. I notice that whenever I do my sound treatment for an hour or so (trying to do at least 2 hours a day) that it spikes my T temporarily. Is this common in using pink noise, should I continue and persist?

If its new, then probably anything will spike it. You aren't going too loud are you?

Yes it is normal. It takes a while for your hearing to adapt and settle down.

Ive had T/H for 4 months so its fairly new. The volume I have it at is low and tolerable while listening, its just the after effect.

Just try and find the cause. See how much money you can waste on useless Medical practitioners that know nothing but will still bill you in full for their precious, precious time. You'll probably get worse at this early stage with or without pink, blue or beige noise.

I've been to 3 ENT's all helpless basically saying "deal with it" I have to take it upon my self to fight this. Thanks PaulBe, I'll stick it out. So what under 6 months would still be early stage?

Stay the course and don't listen to 1MW. Retraining the brain is the protocol with sound therapy. Also if you are have issues with stress and anxiety, you may want to do CBT or some other type of stress relieving therapy in conjunction with this since they can make your hyperacusis worse.

I did use sound therapy to treat mine for about 6 months. I did a combination of pink noise, white noise and believe it or not listening to Audible audio books to distract me on walks.

For me, the noises haven't helped, but I don't believe they've worsened anything. I do think six months is still early stages, and I don't think you would lose anything by persisting with sound therapy. Done at low, sensible level, the sound is no more intense than any everyday nature sounds.

I had severe hyperacusis (i was not able to cope sound from plastic bag) that cured to the point to operate noisy >100dB industrial machine.
My strategy was total silence for serious amount of time 1+ year .
Everytime in tried sound theparies H went worse.
H needs silence and to threat the cause if you find it.

Now i have relapse in my H but not so severe as first time i can cope for 20-30 min 60db conversation
and i can cope tv at very low level.

You've got a complex plumbing problem, and the three accountants you went to were unable to help. So you have decided to fix your complex plumbing problem on your own. Instead, perhaps you should call a plumber?

Pardon my sarcasm, but I really wanted to drive this point home. Why don't you go to somebody who knows a bit about hyperacusis?

I suspect that therein lies the problem for so many of us, particularly outside of the US.

Hyperacusis has organic cause and if can't be found to give specific treatment
it has proven that pulse corticosteroids in acute phase can resolve the problem completely.
Also i have found that pure oxygen > 80% for 10 mins improves dramatically the symptom.
Hyperacusis can have many causes... the key is to treat the cause.

Pink noise do nothing and if the volume or exposure time is high more damage can occur.

My experience in Australia is that no-one here (without exception) is interested in the cause, whatever that may be. TRT is the soft option as far as ENT's go.

I wanted to just say as well. If you have any sort of device like an apple or android device - then you could try listening to podcasts as well. I found them to really help distract me from my T while getting used to hearing a constant stream of noise that I was comfortable with. It seemed to help my anxiety which in turn helped my H :)

Early on I listened to about 5 or 6 hours worth a day through my iPad (no head phones. Just used the speaker on the device)
