      unknown?
For the past two days, in addition to the constant white noise sound (which I've had for years), I've had this intermittent pulsing in my right ear. It kind of sounds like a muffled woodpecker tapping away or a very speedy heartbeat. It's really only brought on by me burping, yawning, or stretching. And after 30 seconds or so of it starting and stopping, it will stop. It can be drowned out by everyday noise, like going to the store or cooking, things like that. But in complete silence do I hear it.

I'd like to think whatever it is, is due to anxiety or even tense neck muscles? Nothing drastic but, the right side of my neck up to my jaw does feel a little more tense than the other. Plus, it's not painful or too weird, but aside from the sound, my right ear just feels off. Like a little bit fuller, a dull pain prick every now and then. And I have been known to have super weird symptoms flare up due to my anxiety.

Has anyone had pulsatile tinnitus like this? Can it be temporary? Like lasting a couple of days and never returning again? Or am I just doomed to live with this for the rest of my life?

      Hi Advansi,
It is possible these changes are due to anxiety and tense feelings however any change or sudden change in tinnitus should be investigated. It would be beneficial to visit your GP and ask for onward referral to ENT for this reason.
Tinnitus can be managed in many ways and it is important people know this. There are specialists both NHS and private there to help people.

More than happy to answer any other questions you may have.

      Many thanks
      Aimee
