Appointment Today: Is Tinnitus Matching Safe?

Hi
I have an audiology appointment today which will include measuring my tinnitus. Does anyone know if this is safe or can involve loud noises and possible hearing loss?
The reason I am being cautious is that ENT department caused my mild tinnitus to go severe I think. Any advice would be really appreciated.
