Are Loud Noises After the Big Hit with Tinnitus Ruining Healing Progress?

I was thinking about the time I got a really bad cut on my hand in the crotch of the thumb and first finger. I was young and very active, so it would heal then I would accidentally rip it open using my hand. This went on for some time. Heal, rip, heal, rip...

Is the damage to my hearing like that? If I get hit with noise after the damage incident will the noise halt or damage what might have been trying to heal? If someone got tinnitus from a single loud noise, if they put on super earplugs and stayed in a super quiet environment for a number of months would this be the best way to treat the tinnitus and damage?
