Hey all!

I've had tinnitus (3/10) for almost two months but I haven't really noticed any major spikes. Are spikes usually noticeable?

I know I probably shouldn't be focusing on the bad, but I'm just curious... thanks!

Yes, spikes are usually noticeable and can be very debilitating. You haven't had tinnitus long and by the sounds of things you don't have it severe which is good. Try to keep it that way by not using headphones even at low volume. If you go to clubs or the cinema where there are high sound levels, I suggest you use noise reducing earplugs.

If you want know more about tinnitus, treatments and coping methods, I suggest you click on the link below and read my article: Tinnitus, A Personal View. Try not to skim through it. Read it slowly and in full.
Best of luck

Is it a spike if you don't notice it? Its not as simple as it sounds. Has an exacerbation occurred that wasn't sensitive enough for you to notice it right away? That's a better, related question.

I'm going to say, yes. Spikes can be unoticable.

I have multiple sounds, my main sound has gradually worsened over the years without any specific event making it noticably worse. My T is significantly louder than it was five years ago.
