      Could exercise be affecting my tinnitus? I started working out more last week, about five miles on an elliptical every other night.

      Last night before I went to bed, I started hearing a weird beeping noise in my right ear. It was the weirdest thing.

      Usually I have a constant high pitch tone in that ear but it turned into high pitched beeping, similar to that of a machine. I thought something was beeping in my house but the sounds all came from that ear. The beeps weren't regular either. It was kind of like morse code. It stopped after 2 or 3 minutes, but I'm constantly worried now that it'll come back.

      I also took an advil for some cramps that morning which isn't the usual norm for me. I know there are certain medications you can take that make tinnitus worse.

      Wondering what the cause of the beeping was and if it will come back

      Beeping happens to me, too, and I’ve yet to detect a consistent pattern. Sometimes T just behaves oddly.

      One thing though, I have noticed mine varies a bit with hormone fluctuations. You mentioned cramps, so maybe that was a small factor.

      Yeah I guess maybe the combination of hormones and more consistent exercise might be why I had a fluctuation in my tinnitus. I rarely ever get cramps so that might be why. Does beeping happen regularly for you?

      It seems to come and go. I had quite a bit early on while undergoing steroid treatments, then I went several months without hearing it. It’s picked up again within the last few weeks, I’m unsure if that’s a good or bad sign. Or maybe no sign at all! :confused:

      Haha I definitely relate to your confusion. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad sign either.

      @kate08 & @Tinker Bell

      I am also experiencing random beeps now and then. It started about a year ago in my right ear.. some days it happens several times, and other days it never happens. I experience both a few beeps, and longer streaks of beeps... always in my right ear. It happens pretty much no matter what I do.. I usually have 2-3 sounds in my ears and the beeping goes over these sounds.

      Is this what you two experience also? Or could you describe your beeps a litte more :)

      I actually went to an ear specialist for this and he said it's completely normal. I'm not sure what brought it on after almost two years of having tinnitus, I've never experienced this before. Like you, some days it happens and some days it doesn't. The first time I had it, it sounded like static from a television with loud beeping that had an irregular pattern. It was a mix of really short and long beeps. I was really alarmed because I thought something went off in the house and I looked everywhere to make the sound stop. But since then, the beeping hasn't been so loud. I don't hear it everyday and it's definitely a lot quieter than it was the first time. My ringing though is a lot louder than it used to be and I'm more sensitive to loud noises now.

      I have the same problem. It's very intermittent, usually only happens in the left ear at night. Sometimes it sounds like a cricket, sometimes a beep, OMG.
