Interesting. Usually when I talk about hyperacusis with other people with normal ears they go "ooh, then you suffer just like my dog when there are fireworks and is barking and running around for cover".

Yes, people care more about pets or animals than about other people.

Our neighbour down the road owns a small heinz 57 dog, which they had neutered. Now they dress him up like he's in drag, the poor fucker.

It's probably because in our pets it becomes really, really obvious when they are suffering from environmentally.

Maybe if tinnitus sufferers made their pains more obvious there would be more awareness and consideration, though I feel that instead of working towards a solution we'd only end up getting shot up with the "good stuff" so the world can go back to pretending that all is well.
