I was prescribed Amitriptyline for migraines and since it didn't work well, the doctor gave me a free sample of Emgality (Galcanezumab). Since it has a long half-life, I'm wondering if it's safe to take it for migraines, in terms of my pre-existing tinnitus. Amitriptyline didn't change my tinnitus, only made it fluctuate. In fact after I took the first dose, the tinnitus was gone for a day.
Sorry to hear about your migraines they can be terrible! n=1 but I tried Emgality back when I only had mild tinnitus and I noticed no difference in tinnitus. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me (I have weird post-concussion migraine) but was a near cure for my mom's migraines! If you're really worried, there's oral anti-CGRP drugs like Nurtec, Ubrelvy, or Qulipta with shorter half lives. Could be good as a trial.
