Can Steroids Help Drug Induced Tinnitus? Venlafaxine (Effexor) Spiked My Tinnitus

Hi,

I've had mild tinnitus for 6 years. On the 3rd of January this year I took Venlafaxine (Effexor) for anxiety, starting with 37.5 mg a day and when I upped the dose on the 5th of January to 75 mg a day, the next day I had a severe spike in tinnitus that is still present to this day.

I only took the drug for 3 days and stopped immediately after I saw that brutal change in my hearing.

Can I still run to an ENT and get steroids into my ear (left one) that is also a little bit aching? Or would it not make make a difference?

Please help, I'm very stressed right now.
