Can Washing the Filters of Custom Moulded Earplugs Ruin Them?

I washed my custom moulded earplugs and forgot to take the filters out before doing so.
Would doing this ruin the filters?

You better contact the manufacturer.

I've mailed them once if I should get new filters every time new moulds are made. They advised me to do so as the pores in the membrane get clogged over time. That would mean the flat attenuation is compromised.

If anything that means the fidelity is no longer there but the protection is.

This was their reply:

The ER25 filter has little "holes" in it and over the years they can be clogged with dirt and earwax.
