Cause of Tinnitus
unknown but came after a sinus infection
I finally found the cause of my pulsatile tinnitus after more than three years. Unfortunately, I have been told it is an arteriovenous malformation (AVM), a web of vessels on the brain near the sigmoid sinus.

I am currently waiting for a referral to Neurosurgery.

Has anyone else gone through this?

Hope you are doing well, i am suffering from 2 high frequency sounds from tinnitus , 1 pulsatile and the other non pulsatile.
nothing conclusive from my MRI, but I'm reading that an MRV scan to show my veins is a more appropriate scan, just curious to which scan you had?
thanks

Sorry to hear that. I assume you got the diagnosis after a cerebral angiogram or maybe the initial MRI or CT scans? Many people on the Whooshers forum have been through similar experiences, so if you're not already on there, it might be worth taking a look. I hope you don't have to wait too long for a neurosurgery consultation.
