I have question. My ringing has been getting quieter these past few days and now sounds almost like a hissing. It is primarily in my left hear; however, I sleep on my right side and notice that the ringing gets substantially louder as I sleep on my right. I will try to flip over and notice that the ringing goes down. It does not disappear but changes pitch and volume.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this?

Also, I went to the ENT yesterday and of course, to no prevail, I was told "it will either go away or it won't". My sleep schedule has been horrible. The doc suggested some low dosage anti-depressant to help me sleep. I cannot remember the name and was wondering if anyone has had experience with this drug? It is an anti-depressant but in low dosage. If so, did it help with sleep and what were the side effects?

It could be Remeron (Mirtazapine). Quite effective for sleep for many.

The above name ring a bell?
