Ciprofloxacin Ear Drops — Are They Ototoxic?

Hi there,

I had microsuction to remove a significant amount of pus from my ear.

I had gone deaf on that ear and the sensation that accompanied that was most uncomfortable.

My doctor then prescribed ciprofloxacin drops.

Please could you comment on this as I believed that cipro was ototoxic...

My ent doctor said they are not... Confused.

I would have no problem prescribing ciprofloxacin ear drops for a tinnitus sufferer who had an ear infection.
