Clunking Sound from the Bottom of the Car — Can It Cause Damage to My Hearing?

Last night when I got a car ride home from my aunt a clunking sound from somewhere underneath the car was troubling me.

Sometimes it was louder than other times and it lasted around 3 minutes until the part under the car got into a better position.

I tried to get her to pull over so I could have my mother come get me since she wasn’t far from us but she refused and kept driving while I was freaking out over the clunks.

Does anyone know of this happening? Is it common? Should I be worried that this did some damage to my already overly sensitive ears?
