Could a Future Cure for Hearing Loss Cure Recruitment?

The question says it all.

 

Hey Susan,
I’m not 100% sure about that but I’ve seen some news articles about students in Boston that are working in stem cell research to regrow the destroyed nerves in our ears. This hopefully will solve all of our problems such as T and H and maybe even recruitment. Hopefully they figure it out soon cause i’m ready for it!

Recruitment is a fancy word for profound low-mid frequency hearing loss and possibly loudness based hyperacusis where people can hear whispers, jingles and bells but they cannot hear loud low pitch noises at all, not even thunder or booming noise.

Recruiment = severe/profound low frequency hearing loss
and low frequency hearing loss is uncommon because the high pitch hair cells in the cochlear spiral usually go first.
