I have perfect hearing in both ears up until about 12000Hz. Then it stops in my left ear and continues in my right up until about 16000Hz or so. I suspect then that the neurons on the right side of my brain that correspond to those missing frequencies are firing because they lack input.
In an attempt to "grow" the surrounding neuron areas so that they "take over" from the misfiring neurons, would it be an idea to play music in that 12000-16000Hz frequency range that I can hear in my right ear? I don't understand the tonotopic map well enough, but what is directly surrounding those misfiring neurons?
With all of this promise around ACRN and notched therapy I was certain someone might be playing around with this sort of approach.
