Cutting the Muscle Attached to the Hammer Bone to Treat Hyperacusis?

A long time ago a doctor suggested as an experimental surgery for hyperacusis cutting the muscle attached to the hammer bone. Apparently this surgery has been already performed in Germany. Does anyone have more information about it?
