ENT said I had a deviated septum, would surgery cure it? The tinnitus I mean?

Probably not. The problem is more than likely in your cochlea.

That being said, I got rhinitis surgery before my hearing loss treatments.

was this a "go in, widen a nostril, fix a deviated septum" type deal? Can I ask how it went, what the recovery was like, and what effect it's had?

Basically I broke my nose when I was about 18, have a wider nostril on one side than the other as a result, and I tend to get stuffed up very easily and usually can only breathe through one nostril when I first wake up in the morning. This is all slightly obnoxious but so far I haven't pursued a scalpel.

It was arguably the most intense experience of my entire life. Having lidocaine injected way up into your nose multiple times is NOT fun. After the surgery there was no pain. I had lots of huge bloody boogers for about a month and that was actually really fun.
