Hi all, I've been suffering from tinnitus for a week. I hope it's not prolonged but who knows.

      Timeline:
      • 24th May: I had a viral infection.
      • 30th May: Very itchy ear and ear pain.
      • 31st May: I was prescribed Otomize and Erythromycin antibiotics to take for a week after my doctor said my ear looked mucky. This is the point at which my tinnitus started in the infected ear.
      • 4th June: I noticed hissing when falling sleep.
      • 6th June: Audiologist removed earwax in the left ear. Right ear was not done because she said I have air bubbles on the eardrum.
      • 14th June: Back to doctor with on/off stuffy ear and tinnitus. The doctor says my eardrum is opaque with 50% earwax, referring me to an ENT.
Doctor suspects ETD (Eustachian Tube Dysfunction), my anxiety thinks it is an Acoustic Neuroma. I'm a female, 30 years old.

      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Azithromycin
Go see an ENT specialist and see what they say. Erythromycin is an ototoxic drug so that might be where your ringing started from.

I believe mine started from the Azithromycin which I regret taking but I didn't have an infection like you say you have.
