So for as long as I can remember, I have this whooshing sound in my left ear, it's only really when I'm laying in bed and it's not every night, it sounds like a heartbeat but whooshing with some quiet crackling.

I've googled it because I suffer with anxiety. Now I'm panicking because I think something's wrong with my arteries :(

I have keyhole surgery in 2 weeks for my stomach and now this has just made me think what if there's a complication?

I'm only a 20-year-old girl, surely I must be in good health? Should I be really worried??

Statistically it is unlikely for you to have a serious health condition at your age, but there are exceptions: some people die at your age. It is more likely for you to die in a car accident than from a health issue at your age.

Find a specialist consultant who knows something about pulsatile tinnitus and they can help you have the MRI/MRA necessary to rule out serious issues.

@Karen might have more helpful advice??
