So I went to the doctor, got a shot, almost died, and had my ears checked. One of my ears is majorly clogged, the other (tinnitus affected) is clean (thank God) and has fluid in it. My doctor said it isn’t common that the fluid would cause ringing but it can happen. I’m going to be getting a nasal spray and using Allegra and stuff. If it doesn’t improve within a month of using the stuff, I’m due to see an ENT.

Also I did pass the hearing test they gave me, which was the same as the one at school, hearing beeps, then like raising the hand, so I’m honestly confused. It’s going to be possible it’s not noise induced!

But I’ll keep this thread updated.

If your nasal stuff has caused eustachian tube blockage resulting in fluid building up in your middle ear then yes.
If you don't have fluid build up in your middle ear then chances are no.

Yeah. I am pretty congested and I’ve been having like seasonal allergies and stuff where my nose runs. My hearing seemed fine since I passed the test, but I am going to pediatricians and stuff so.

Praying for you neo-t. See if they can give you a steamer, a device to release mucus naturally.

I am glad your hearing tests are going good... stay strong... you are gonna pull through.

Be sure you use that nasal spray correctly if not you may as well spray it into the wind. Most Dr. don't tell you how to use them, but I will standing up bend your head forward tilting it downward put the nasal spray into whichever nasal passage is the problem but put the spray towards the ear don't sniff it up just breathe normal. That's the correct way.

So here’s the first lil update.

I just got the nasal spray plus more Allegra and I’m already noticing a difference. My ringing in terms of the loud masking ‘normal ringing’ noise it usually has, it basically has lowered down a bit, which is what I think caused the static like noise I heard whenever I laid down my ear on a pillow or anything.

But besides that and my allergies getting better, that’s all I’ve gotta update rn.

Another update, am I doing these wrong? Idk.

Anyway, it’s much easier to hear my main tinnitus now, so I think some fluid has gone out of my ear, however ear fluid comes out of the ear. My allergies have gotten a lot better and such so there’s that lol
But as for a tinnitus update, my masking ringing type thing has gone away, but the main is still there.

Sorry to hear it’s not clearing up for you. Like people have said before you are young. Protect your ears and they may recover in time.

is it manageable? How are you feeling at school? When is the next ENT appointment? Is your family being supportive?

Lots of questions, it's my paternal instinct... I want you better...

I am here if you need me...
Answer... don't answer... I just want you safe, sound and happy.

Ty. It may clear up since I was given a month to use it. I feel like it’ll be a a long process given there is fluid in my ear.

      I just saw this, sorry!!

Anyway, I’ll answer your question in like bullet points.

      • It is manageable. I’ve gotten better at ignoring it and often distracting myself with my YouTube videos. But, I have like this static like masking sound my ear has so whenever I lay on the ear it’s annoying, but other than that, manageable!

      • I’m feeling well actually. Turns out the AC is so loud it masks my tinnitus so I’m able to sit in silence. My math class is pretty loud, so I’m often getting anxiety, and plus my teacher screams sometimes and it’s just odd, but I’m often used to it.

      • I am not scheduled to an ENT. I am currently taking Allegra and having Nasal spray for a month. I have fluid in my ear that my doctor was able to see at my yearly check up which was wellness and stuff. If the Nasal spray and Allegra does not help me, I’m off to an ENT.

      • My family is very supportive! Whenever I’ve had my crying fits because of anxiety + me being tired, my mom has supported me through trying to understand what’s going on. One time, I was super cranky because of a long day at a theme park, and I heard a noise that reminded me of my tinnitus, and it was so scary and overwhelming, so I broke down. After we got home and I was able to cry a bit more, she asked if I was okay and what the noise sounded like, she was also the one who helped me clean my ear because it’s honestly hard to do it myself + she reminded me that I had to ask about my tinnitus to my doctor, which I did forget.

If you have any more questions, please ask!!

Major update!!! My tinnitus has gone to such a level to where I can’t even hear it anymore! There is still that normal ringing sound being loud but besides that, it’s like it’s gone!! But I don’t wanna get my hopes up. Still using my nasal spray and stuff.

Update, things have stayed the same. I noticed a little change whenever I stopped taking Allegra so I started taking it again.
