Does Anyone Know of a Private Procedure, Implant Which Helps Tinnitus?

My mum told me today that somebody she knows is paying £2000 for an implant which will help their tinnitus, not on the NHS but I can't think what it would be?

There are no implants to heal tinnitus as far as I know .. even is questionable if they reduce them sound at all
