Hi,

I've been raising a dog for four to five years. It's a small breed, but its bark is quite loud. When I come home, it barks constantly and won't calm down. Sometimes it even barks while I'm sleeping and wakes me up.

I've had tinnitus for four months now, with high-frequency hearing loss around 16,000 Hz. My tinnitus sound is also around 16,000 Hz. I suspect my dog may have damaged my ear, and I will probably give him up.

Four months ago, my neck hurt for three days, and then my tinnitus started and hasn't gone away. I am 22 years old.

In this situation, are there any of you who have dogs, especially ones that bark a lot, and also have tinnitus?

My dog can definitely make my tinnitus worse when he barks, but the root cause of my tinnitus was heavy diesel equipment operation and headphone use. I'm sorry if you've reached the point where you feel you need to give up your furry companion. I understand and feel sympathy.
