Cause of Tinnitus
Ear Infection (Multiple Antibiotics + Fungal Prescribed (?))
Hi all, for a couple months now (Yeah, thought it would clear on its own, didn't want to bother doctors) I've had muffled hearing in my left ear (tinnitus ear). I decided finally best see the doctor. She looks in and said she cannot see the eardrum as too much puss. This was actually a surprise to me as I didn't even realise, I've not noticed any fluid draining etc.. there's no pain, it's just been a little more itchy than normal - but honestly my ears itch literally all the time anyway as I have dermatitis and dry ears/wax anyway.
Due to my previous very severe infection a few years ago (which is when my T kicked off) - which after 3 rounds of antibiotics and ear drops they finally did a swab and it turned out to be fungal (Aspergillus fumigatus), to then be prescribed ineffective oral fungal medication which I ended up doing my own research on to realise(!) and then finally sorted it with effective ones - she decided it best to do a swab first this time and wait for the result.

I've just checked online on the system and it's on there now:

EAR SWAB
Wound microscopy, culture and sensitivities 1) +++ growth of Staphylococcus aureus
1)
Chloramphenicol S
Erythromycin S
Gentamicin S
Tetracycline S
Flucloxacillin S
ADDITIONAL CULTURE DETAILS with Non-significant growth
FUNGAL CULTURE Candida spp. NOT isolated

Just wondering really, is there any type of antibiotics I should really be steering clear of in this case that could worsen my already constant T - I'm worried about anything topical as I already struggle extremely with getting any water/fluid in my ears as a sensory thing anyway! But it worries me even more now I have T.
